Statement on Senator Rand Paul's CCAS 3000 Course for GW Students

We would like to clarify any erroneous information you may have encountered in the media regarding the Fall 2017 course to be taught by Senator Rand Paul in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS).
Sen. Paul's course is not an English course offering. The course does not count toward the English major, nor is the course material grounded in any particular academic discipline.

We in the Department of English have a number of experienced, award-winning faculty who teach courses about dystopia (or its antecedent utopia) within the discipline of literary study. We warmly welcome any students who are interested in literature, English majors or non-majors alike, to enroll in our courses and explore what we have to offer.

For more information regarding Sen. Paul’s course, please see the press release from CCAS available here.

Please direct any media inquiries regarding Sen. Paul’s course to Brett Zongker, Senior Associate Director of Media Relations, bzongker@email.gwu.edu
